In fact, Bayonetta 2 is basically just one big showdown after another. The battles are enormous and often feature tons of enemies and on-screen action. Gigantic fights that are easy to keep track ofīayonetta is a tall person, but she’s often pretty tiny next to some of the enemies she faces during her adventures, and that’s one of the game’s best aspects. It’s a testament to this medium that it can claim Bayonetta to its credit. Honestly, if a character like Bayonetta could exist in other mediums, that character probably would already exist by now. Even an animated movie wouldn’t give you the sense of power you have when you play as her. Maybe she would make sense in a comic, but then you wouldn’t get to see the way she walks. I don’t think a human actor could do the character justice. It’s worth going on about how cool Bayonetta is because she is a character that might only work in games. It’s awesome - and sure, a lot of this was in the first game, but the fact that Platinum didn’t lose Bayonetta’s swagger and actually amplified it is wonderful. She has a gait that would put Giselle Bundchen to shame.Įven when the game gets a bit exploitative, and the camera zooms up around her shapely butt, between her legs, or around her chest, Bayonetta basically just looks at you and says “deal with it.” But where Samus is a warrior whose gender is hidden by her suit most of the time, Bayonetta does not try to hide. This is especially charming because most “cool characters in games” - whether they are a man or a woman - usually end up being Indiana Jones (Uncharted’s Nathan Drake) or Ripley from Alien (Metroid’s Samus). She’s completely comfortable in everything. Bayonetta doesn’t give a damn that all this makes her stand out, and she also doesn’t acknowledge it. The woman is already the tallest person on the street, and she’s wearing 6-inch high-heeled shoes, an elaborate white gown, and a matching wide-rimmed sun hat covered in white flowers. That’s especially impressive because it isn’t about having an edgy attitude, it is about her poise and elegance.įor example, the first scene of Bayonetta 2 has the witch shopping for Christmas presents in what looks like Manhattan. It doesn’t matter if she is facing down the Demon of Sloth or if she is Christmas shopping, the witch is always the coolest person in the room. I don’t think gaming has a cooler character right now, and that comes down to a lot of things - mainly, though, it’s the character’s confidence (Keep in mind you'll need to use circle to select and X to go back in the game, like on nintendo consoles.Bayonetta is one of pop culture’s coolest characters in years For a PS4 controller, this is how I set it up so the controls are the same as Bayo 1 for ps4. Set up whatever controls you're using, probably in relation to the buttons of the WiiU gamepad. I added a steam shortcut (button above the play on PC one) and opened the game from there. Once that installs, the game wouldn't open directly from the USB helper for me. Select the stable version and i also installed the addons. Step 6: Click "Play this game on PC." It'll ask to download the Cemu emulator. It'll look like it's doing nothing but just wait a few minutes. When you click on it, click "Verify Files" on its menu. Step 5: The game should show up on the Library tab now. (Make sure to check the box next to the name when confirming to actually import it!!) Select the folder that has your Bayo2 files in it. Step 4: With WiiU USB Helper set up, click the "Batch Commands" tab at the bottom and Import Files. These urls are base64 encoded (probably to prevent takedown for piracy), so you have to go to a decoder website like this one and paste in one of the codes to get the url. You'll notice these aren't urls at all, but strings of random characters. Then it will ask you for "tickets." I never fully learned what exactly this meant, but you have to put a url in there. However the files aren't set up for that, there's no files Cemu can run. Ideally, you'd be able to just run the game with Cemu from here. Once it downloads, extract the folder inside the zip (not the individual files) wherever you want it stored. But I did find a good archive of a bunch of wii U games, which leads to: Well, really it was trouble enough just to find a trustworthy place to get the ROM. So, I went through a lot of trouble trying to get this Bayonetta 2 ROM to work. The gameplay itself is 60fps and runs smoothly. The audio is about 2 seconds out of sync and it's stuck at 30fps or less and frequently frame drops. **Note, this version has annoyingly buggy cutscenes.
